Dr. Lerman is a pediatric anesthesiologist at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY where he has worked since 2002. Before moving to Buffalo, he was Professor of Anesthesiology at the Hospital for Sick Children and University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada since 1983. Dr. Lerman has authored more than 135 peer-reviewed manuscripts, edited/authored three textbooks (“Neonatal Anesthesia”, 2nd edition 2023, “A practice of anesthesia for infants and children”, 7th edition 2024, and “Manual of pediatric anesthesia”, 7th edition 2016), >100 review articles, chapters and editorials, numerous grants and 2 patents. He has delivered more than 300 lectures in over 30 countries, many of which were named lectureships. He is former editor at Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesia and the Canadian Journal of Anesthesia and a former associate editor at Anesthesia & Analgesia, currently reviewing for numerous journals including Lancet.
