Dr. Smith is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, an Assistant Professor at the USC Keck School of medicine, and a licensed attorney. At CHLA’s Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology he is the Medical Director of Quality and Performance Improvement. He has a BS in Bioengineering from UC San Diego, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, and a MS in Physiology & Biophysics from Georgetown University. He attended medical school at George Washington University and law school at Duke University. He completed residency in anesthesiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He researches and speaks on the intersections of law, policy, and medicine.
