Dr. Abousamra joined CHLA in 2018 after completing his pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He specializes in pediatric orthopaedic trauma, gait and neuromuscular disorders, as well as lower extremity deformity reconstruction surgery. He established and is the director of the limb lengthening and reconstruction program at CHLA. Dr. Abousamra has been a full-time faculty at Keck School of Medicine of USC since 2018 and is now an associate professor. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America. He has over 50 peer-reviewed publications, 13 book chapters, and over 80 presentations in national and international conferences. He is a reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics (JPO) and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS).
